PLAINVIEW — Wayland Baptist University announces an 8 percent increase in undergraduate enrollment for the Fall 2024 semester.
This increase marks a significant growth in student engagement, and the largest incoming class in many years, with a remarkable 19 percent increase in new student enrollment.
The growth reflects Wayland’s commitment to providing quality education grounded in faith-based values and underscores the university’s increasing appeal to students.
“We are incredibly proud of this year’s enrollment numbers and the growth we’re seeing,” said Dr. Donna Hedgepath, President. “It is a testament to the hard work of our faculty and staff, as well as the strong reputation Wayland continues to develop as we prepare students to lead in their communities, their professions, and their spiritual lives. Our growing student body is a reflection of the confidence placed in Wayland.”
The incoming class includes a diverse range of students pursuing studies in fields such as science, business, education, and Christian ministry, with many seeking degrees that align with Wayland’s mission of service and leadership.
In addition to undergraduate enrollment increases, Wayland Baptist University continues to foster innovation through new academic programs, partnerships, and opportunities that attract students eager to develop their potential in both academic and spiritual settings.
“Students are choosing Wayland because they recognize the unique blend of academic excellence and personal mentorship we offer,” Dr. Hedgepath continued. “Our mission remains focused on guiding students toward professional success as well as growth as individuals of character and faith.”
The president said Wayland remains committed to expanding its influence, nurturing a thriving community of learners, and upholding its tradition of excellence in Christian higher education.
