Our Circulation Policies

Materials may be checked out if you meet any of the following requirements:

Wayland students, faculty, staff, and their spouses. Undergraduates may check out items for 3 weeks. Graduates may check them out for 4 weeks. If you are an external student, you may email (LRCREF@WBU.EDU) the Library Reference Account to get materials sent to you. Alternatively, you may use the .

Residents of Plainview. Residents within a 60 mile radius of Plainview can apply for a library card at the circulation desk. A limit of three books may be checked out.

Consortium Members. Faculty, staff, and students from other libraries who are members of HLC, LEIAN, TexShare or TLCA may check out up to three books. Show the appropriate card (i.e. TexShare card) at the circulation desk.

High School Students. Students of Plainview High School, Plainview Christian Academy, and other area high schools are permitted up to three books with a permit signed by a teacher, school librarian, or the principal.

Fines are accumulated at the rate of $0.25 per book per day for circulating items. For videos, DVDs, software, and any material borrowed on Interlibrary Loan, the fines are increased to $1.00 per item per day.

At the end of each semester (fall and spring) all unpaid fines will be turned over to the business office. Additionally, a $50 lost item charge for each unreturned item will be placed on your account. Such charges can be removed by paying the amount due, or by returning the items within the year following the administration of the charge(s). Any lost interlibrary loan item will result in a $25 dollar fee plus whatever the lending library invoices for a replacement cost.
