What is Financial Aid?

At Wayland Baptist University, we understand that tuition cost and financial aid are vital factors in choosing where to attend college. We also understand that the value received in exchange for that cost is ultimately even more important.

Through our commitment to make education affordable we are able to transform your college expense into a valuable educational investment.

Financial aid includes any scholarships, grants, loans, or student employment offered to you to help offset the cost of education. Thanks to the contributions of so many who believe in the value of Christian higher education, Wayland is among the most affordable of any accredited, private universities in the nation.

Through gifts from alumni, friends of the university, and churches, as well as an annual allocation from the Baptist General Convention of Texas, our endowment continues to grow and we are able to maintain a lower total cost, and increase options for student financial aid.

We believe the lack of immediate funds or financial hardship should not stand in the way of education. More than 65 percent of our degree-seeking students receive some type of financial aid through scholarships, grants, loans or student employment.

Financial aid at Wayland is offered based on the following academic year schedule:

Plainview—Fall/Spring (August through May)
External Campuses—Fall 1 & Fall 2/Spring 1 & Spring 2 (August through May)
The Summer term is a trailer to the academic year.

The priority submission date to apply for financial aid is 4 weeks prior to the beginning of a term but an application will be processed at any point in the term that it is received.

WBU has adopted the Code of Conduct established by NAFSAA. For further information see
