Hello and welcome to Wayland Baptist University-Fairbanks. For more than 100 years (more than 30 years in Alaska), Wayland Baptist University has provided adult learners outstanding education across a wide spectrum of degrees to enhance their lives. I encourage you to consider this incredible opportunity to learn as you seek to mature as a person and to grow intellectually.
Here in the Fairbanks area, WBU reaches out to a broad cross-section of diverse students, ranging from traditional freshmen right out of high school to non-traditional learners who may have years of experience serving in the US Military or working in the private and/or public sectors. We tailor our classes and degree programs to match the varying requirements of these modern-day students, and, for that reason, conduct most of our class meetings during the evenings or on weekends. In addition, there is even greater flexibility afforded by our distance education program. Furthermore, even though WBU is a private university, it maintains low tuition rates, comparable to most state public schools. Not only is WBU very affordable and strongly committed to helping you attain your educational goals, we are equally dedicated to maintaining solid academic teaching. A recent Wall Street Journal article ranked Wayland 4th best in the entire United States for return on investment and Wayland Baptist is regionally accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, the highest possible level of accreditation in the United States. This is an important factor to consider when seeking employment or transferring credits to other academic programs.
