Counseling Services On Campus

Campus Services:

Counseling Services is dedicated to providing the best possible mental health services to Wayland Baptist University. We provide individual counseling services to students with personal/social concerns or academic/career concerns. There may also be opportunities for group counseling. The office is managed by a full-time licensed professional counselor and there is no cost for these services if you are currently enrolled at Wayland Baptist University.

Counseling services assists Wayland students to resolve their own everyday problems and stresses. We provide a secure, confidential environment where students are able to experience growth and healing by learning and practicing healthy and appropriate problem-solving skills. We believe that as you and your counselor work together to address your concerns you will develop a sense of self-awareness that will influence your behavior and feelings.

Our counseling services are confidential, and visits are never reported on an academic transcript or in a placement file. When appropriate, the counselor can refer students to other specialized counseling services available in the surrounding area.

Timely Care: “Virtual care from anywhere”. Available to students 24/7 from anywhere in the U.S.

Available services include: Available through TimelyCare app or

  • Medical: 24/7, on demand support, for common health issues (cold, flu, etc.)

 

  • Health Coaching: work on improving healthy lifestyle behaviors (body image, meal planning, sleep issues, etc.)

 

  • Talk Now: 24/7, on demand mental health support to talk about anything

 

  • Scheduled Counseling: choose a time and date to meet with a licensed counselor

 

Mental health & performance support for WBU VA students: Investing in mental health empowers students to reach their top academic performance. Wayland’s VA and military affiliated students have access to private, confidential, and unreported sessions with a veteran counselor as well as performance support seminars and social support groups.

Compassionate Care Pregnancy Center

    is a FREE, no- judgment resource for women in the Plainview area who are facing issues regarding an unexpected pregnancy. Free services include:

    • Confidential pregnancy tests
    • Peer counseling
    • Benevolence items (diapers, baby clothes, etc.).
