Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act

Wayland Baptist University complies fully with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA). The purpose of this legislation is to protect the privacy of educational records and to provide guidelines for the correction of inaccurate or misleading data through informal and formal hearings. Institutional policy explains in detail the provisions of the Act. Copies of the policy may be obtained from the registrar in the basement of Gates Hall at the Plainview campus. Questions concerning the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act may be referred to the Office of the Registrar.
