Ben and Bertha Mieth School of Nursing

Nursing is an incredibly rewarding field and graduates often speak of how gratifying a nursing degree can be as they help those around them. The mission of the Ben and Bertha Mieth School of Nursing is to educate students in a Christian environment and to prepare graduates who will provide holistic nursing care at both beginning and advanced practice levels in a diverse healthcare world. The school prepares graduates committed to providing evidence-based patient care, teaching, service, and outreach.

Learn the art and skill of nursing from professional practitioners. The low faculty-student ratio, small class sizes, state-of-the-art labs, and high-fidelity simulation rooms will bring students one step closer to achieving their academic and professional dreams.

Mieth School of Nursing students benefit from personal attention in every class. The training provided will further emphasize our primary values-based, compassionate approach to the care of patients and families in an academically challenging and distinctively Christian environment.

Our Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree is offered at our San Antonio campus in the city of Live Oak, Texas. Students will learn the art and skill of nursing in a state-of-the-art simulation lab within the Mieth School of Nursing. As you approach graduation you will gain access to some of the finest medical centers in South Texas. Our course work is faith-based and you will enjoy the smaller class sizes where you receive personal instruction on methods and procedures of nursing. There is a major nursing shortage in America, so this is the best time to earn this highly coveted degree.

Registered Nurses (RN) can earn a BSN by taking courses online and performing clinicals in your area without the need to move to San Antonio. This allows you to maintain your work schedule while earning a bachelor's degree. This is a great path for upgrading your career!

Registered Nurses (RN) with a BSN can earn a Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) by taking courses online and performing clinicals in your area without the need to move to San Antonio. This MSN program has an emphasis in nursing education and is perfect for the nurse who wishes to pursue a career in the field of nursing education whether in an academic or clinical setting.

For Licensed Vocational Nurses, our LVN to BSN program is unique because it is the ONLY one in the San Antonio area! Ask us how you can get enrolled.

Occupational Outlook:

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts more than 200,000 job openings for registered nurses each year during the next decade.1 As employers are increasingly requiring bachelor’s degrees for entry-level nurses, WBU's School of Nursing programs can help increase employability in a competitive environment. Earning a bachelor’s degree in nursing can help to improve the ability for a nurse to deliver care, open more opportunities for new specialties, and help make more desirable candidates for leadership and management positions.
