Dr. Andrew Marquez
I'm Dr. Andrew Marquez, Executive Director and Campus Dean of our locations in Arizona. I'm very excited that you have taken the time to check out our website. Let me tell you a little about our campus.
Wayland Baptist University is a longstanding Christian university that began on the west plains of Texas over 100 years ago. Wayland has served students in Arizona for over twenty-five years. We remain a private college with a commitment to integration of faith and learning. Our regional accreditation with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools reflects the highest level of accreditation in the United States. This is an important factor when considering future employment or transferring credit to another institution.
WBU students come from a wide range of backgrounds. We serve military students, veterans, working adults and some traditional learners. Some of our students are fresh out of high school or community college, while others are professionals seeking degrees for promotion or professional development. To serve our diverse student body, Wayland has developed academically challenging, yet flexible programming. We offer daytime, evening, and weekend classes. We also have a robust online offering to meet the needs of students unable to attend face-to-face classes. Many of our students select a variety of course formats to customize their programs around their schedules.
Wayland is an affordable university. In a recent Wall Street Journal article, Wayland was ranked the 4th best university in the United States for return on investment! Our affordability is complimented by our transfer friendly programs. Many of these programs offer credit for work experience--up-to a full semester's worth.
