Director's Message

Wayland Baptist University (WBU) is a private four-year liberal arts university. The Wayland Baptist University System is comprised of the Plainview campus, which is predominately a residential campus, twelve external campuses, and the Virtual Campus offering courses in a broad range of academic areas. The institution is affiliated with the Baptist General Convention of Texas.

WBU's Wichita Falls campus was founded in 1974 at Sheppard AFB. Our original service to the military constituency at Sheppard was expanded when we began our Teacher Certification and Masters of Education programs. For more than 10 years we have also maintained a campus at 4110 Call Field Road in the southwest area of the city.

The Wichita Falls campus offers higher education degree programs in a non-traditional format for the working adult population. We offer night and weekend classes and utilize five 8-week terms per year to fit your specific needs. All of our full-time faculty are terminally degreed and all our adjunct instructors have at least a Master's degree with experience in their field. WBU is a pioneer in external-degree programs and has been assisting civilians as well as members of all branches of service to accomplish their educational goals.

We offer A.A.S., B.A.S., M.A., in a variety of fields as well as specific degrees like our M.B.A., M.P.A., M.A.C., M.ED and we now have available a Doctor of Management degree. All our degree programs are regionally accredited through SACS COC. We accept transfer hours from CCAF, and most regional and community colleges and CLEP/DANTES. Students may earn additional credits toward degree completion by having experiential learning evaluated by one of our skilled academic advisors.
