Move-In Day 2024- Koinonia

Move-In Day 2024- Koinonia

FALL 2024: Move-In Day for incoming, non-early arriving residents* will be on Friday, August 16, 2024. We will again use the STOP, DROP, and GO move-in process between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m. Our goal is to get you as close as possible for unloading, help ease traffic congestion, and reduce the time that you wait in lines. Residents arriving between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m. must sign up for a move-in timeslot.

Before You Arrive:

  1. Sign-up for a move-in appointment: These appointments will occur every 15-30 minutes from 8 a.m. and 12 p.m. each day of our formal move-in days. They are on a first-come, first-served basis, but will be open until August 10. In order to select a move-in appointment:
  2.  Sign-up information coming in Summer 2024!
  3. Be sure to pack all essential items and mark each of your boxes/tubs appropriately. WBU volunteers will not transport loose items and items in bags. Mark each of the following on all of your belongings:
    • Full name
    • Wayland ID#
    • Residence Hall & Room Number
    1. Be aware of what and what not to bring. All students must have their student ID with them. Visit our Housing F.A.Q.s page for a list of things you should consider bringing and what you should leave at home. Although we want you to make your space on campus feel like home, we encourage you to limit the number of items you bring to campus on Move-In Day to increase efficiency during the move-in process.
  4. Move-In Day:

    1. Getting checked into your residence hall: At your self-selected appointment time, please arrive at your assigned residence hall in order to check in and receive your keys. Please bring a photo ID with you.
    2. Traffic patterns around campus will differ during move-in days; for your designated travel route for your specific residence hall, see below. We will have WBU volunteers and the 兔子先生系列麻豆 Department directing traffic to our STOP, DROP, and GO locations at each hall.
      • In order to keep traffic moving, at our STOP, DROP, and GO zones, we ask that you:
        • STOP your vehicle temporarily.
        • DROP your belongings (unload your car) with the help of your personal guests.
        • GO park your car away from this area in a designated parking location.
      • View a Campus Map here in order to prepare for parking and traffic patterns.
    3. Pick up your Wayland ID Card on Move-In Day at your Residence Hall.

    After Move-In:

    1. Meal Plans will not begin until Sunday, August 18, 2024, at 11:00 am. Koinonia participants will have meals provided at Koinonia events. Residents arriving sooner have the option of paying the door price at the Dining Hall, food court, and other dining options on campus.
    2. We begin accepting Hall/Room Change Requests 7-10 days after classes begin. After the Hall/Room Change process is completed, residents who do not have a roommate and do not elect to reserve their room as a private and pay the private room rate will participate in Consolidation. If you find yourself without a roommate after move-in, it is recommended to talk with your residence hall staff to find a roommate through the Hall/Room Change process.
    3. Koinonia begins on Move-In Day. It is open to all new students. Be sure to check in for Koinonia at your residence hall. Visit our Koinonia site for more details.

     * If you are an early-arriving resident or a returning resident, you will have Move-In information sent to your primary email on file in the Housing Office. This information will be sent to you 14 days prior to your university-approved move-in day. Visit our Housing F.A.Q.s page for more information.
