BAS/BCM Auditor/Assistant Registrar

Position Title: BAS/BCM Auditor/Assistant Registrar 

Department/Division:  BAS/BCM Office 

Reports to: Director of BAS/BCM Office 

Position Classification: Exempt (Administrative) 

Position Summary: The BAS/BCM Academic Auditor is responsible to the director of the BAS/BCM Office for activities assigned and is responsible for representing Wayland to all of the University’s public in a positive manner.

Specific Tasks & Duties:

  • Acts with integrity in all matters and exhibits behavior that reflects the highest ethical and professional standards
  • Completes all aspects of job in accordance with pertinent deadlines
  • Quality reviews new files completed by evaluators on the basis of evaluator audit percentage
  • Processes files requiring a Student Agreement (SOC) appropriately
  • Quality reviews degree plans and Wayland transcripts for files on assigned external campus official graduation lists pertinent to respective campuses
  • Mails graduation packages to respective campuses
  • Processes requests for Letters of Completion and graduate studies degree verification
  • Orders and maintains inventory of honor cords to be used at external campus graduation ceremonies
  • Requests honor certificates and mail them with diplomas to the campuses
  • Sends diplomas and transcripts to students who pay off their Business Office holds
  • Responds to the directives of the director of the BAS Office

  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must possess the analytical skills to evaluate transfer credits and the ability to learn and retain vast amounts of information from a wide variety of sources
  • The ability to deal fairly and diplomatically with students and their family members, faculty and staff in the university system within the confines of FERPA regulations
  • Punctuality, dependability, integrity, honesty and loyalty in the performance of duties in the position
  • A commitment to Christian Higher Education and agreement with the purposes and philosophy of Christian Higher Education as promoted by the Baptist General Convention of Texas generally, and Wayland Baptist University particularly
  • A positive force in the office portraying a positive attitude toward other university personnel in phone conversations and in greeting executive directors, students, deans, faculty, and staff members
  • A written statement reflecting personal faith in Jesus Christ, church affiliation and involvement is required

Experience and Knowledge:

  • Preferably at least two years of experience building BAS, BCM, and AAS degree plans
  • Extensive knowledge of academic policy pertaining to BAS, BCM and AAS degrees.
  • Three years of computer experience
  • Working knowledge of ImageNow.

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Employment is subject to an introductory period to monitor employee performance.   If hired, the prospective employee must present documentation within three (3) days of hire date to establish their identity and employment eligibility as required by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).  Must be able to operate a licensed motor vehicle, have access to a dependable motor vehicle, and possess a valid state driver’s license.  Must have and maintain a satisfactory driver’s record.
